It's Time for Jamboree On The AIR (JOTA) (October 20)

The Gwinnett Amateur Radio Society, Gwinnett Amateur Radio Emergency Service and Venture Crew 73 are proud to provide all Scouts and young people the opportunity to learn about Amateur Radio and contact other Scouts On The Air. The Jamboree-on-the-Air, or JOTA, is an annual Scouting event that uses amateur radio to link Scouts around the world, around the nation, and in our own community. Scouts of any age can participate, from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts, Venturers and Girl Scouts.
The World Scout Bureau reported that the 2011 JOTA had nearly 750,000 Scout participants from over
6,000 amateur radio stations!
When: Saturday October 20th 2012, 10AM to 3 PM
Where: This year JOTA will be held at: VFW Hall 368 Grayson Highway Lawrenceville, GA 30046
Multiple Amateur Radio Stations will allow all attendees to make a contact and learn how radio works.
Demonstrations will be provided to show attendees multiple modes of Amateur Radio transmission.
2 Radio Merit Badge Classes will be provided. Preregistration at

A Fox Hunt (hidden transmitter hunt) will provide additional fun.
