JOURNEY TO EXCELLENCE (JTE) INFORMATION!

We on the District Committee rely upon the unit leaders to report the Journey to Excellence numbers so we can compile the district data.  

For the Camping/Outdoors Program portion, we are compile the following information from your unit's JTE spreadsheet:

Cub Scouts: Line #6 - Day/Resident Camp and Family Camping

Boy Scouts: Line #6 - Long-Term Camping

If you will send the information to my email link above I would greatly appreciate it!

Please send any updates (Out of Council Camps, High Adventure Bases, Self-Run Resident Camps) to me at the above email address so I can update the District Records!

 

 Duties of the District Camping Chairman

(a few of duties listed in A Handbook for District Operations)

  • Understand each unit's camping and outdoor record.

  • Implement the council's outdoor promotion plan in the district.

  • Work with unit commissioners and leaders to help packs, troops, teams and crews plan a year-round schedule of camping and outdoor events.

  • Promote the use of Camperships.

  • Promote youth participation in camping and outdoor programs: (1) Boy Scout resident camp, (2) national high adventure programs, (3) Cub Scout outdoor programs, and (4) Venturing outdoor program.

  • Assist the council committee with maintaining and developing quality outdoor program facilities.

  • Promote units earning the National Summertime Pack Award and the National Camping Award.
